Welcome,

The New Old TSCA: How is Implementation of Existing TSCA Rules Changing?
With only slow progress being made in Congress to reform the current TSCA law, the EPA has been working within existing regulations to enhance their review and assessment of new and existing chemicals and making information on chemicals more publicly accessible. In the last few years, EPA has increased scrutiny of new chemicals, increased the number of Significant New Use Rules (SNURs) regulating new chemicals, implemented risk assessment of existing chemicals under the Work Plan Chemical program, and issued new rules/proposed rules for testing and reporting (including the 2012 Chemical Data Report – CDR). This session will explore what triggers EPA concerns when reviewing new chemicals, what can be done to position new chemicals for successful review, what is a SNUR and what does it mean in marketing a new product, and what are the Work Plan Chemicals and what type of reviews have been completed.
