|Product Stewardship Impact to Supply Chain Risk Management|
|In today’s industrial environment, the most certain item is change and increased risk to the supply chain. As companies use resilient supply chains as a competitive advantage, care needs to be taken so as not to increase the risks the supply chain already faces. Product stewardship implementation and the ever changing world of the global regulatory environment drive actions in the supply chain that can unintentionally increase risk. For example, a common response to market country regulatory requirements is the implementation of country or region specific part numbers (PN). Although the short term gains are immediate, the long term risks can be significant with some not being immediately apparent. These risks include, but not limited to, excess inventory, quality traceability, and manufacturing efficiency. This session will explore these risks by providing real life examples.
